  J9 was well-equipped, everything listed plus a few more. The view is great but we couldn't getting to the beach requires a long, muddy jungle walk (which is amazing but not something you want to do every time you'd like to hit the beach. The outside of the buildings is so ugly we were actually scared it was going to be a complete disaster but the interior is nice. Feels remote which was good and bad. Aah ALoha was fabulous - Sandy is wonderful and David took our emergency calls with patience and grace. The other agency listed in the Kauai guide book is horrible. Don't go with them or you'll have vacation **** (called by accident to get the location address and was treated scathingly).

    I love the comment about the outside of the Sealodge buildings. They're faced with a weathered cape cod shingle type look...not what you would expect on a tropical island. I personally wouldn't characterize it as ugly, but it is certainly unexpected! Fortunately, as the guest above noted, once you are inside, the condos are charming and the views are amazing. Maybe painting the shingles ocean blue, hibiscus pink, sunset purple, or grass green would give the complex a more Hawaiian feel...and start a new Cape Cod/Kauai fusion trend in architecture :-)

  We had a very good time in Princeville. J9 was in an exceptional location with an ocean view and great circulation. It was an older unit, but it was extremely clean and very well stocked with cooking gear. Everything worked nicely with the exception of a couple frying pans that were warped and made cooking a little difficult. The stove elements were also warped a little, so if the warps fit together correctly, cooking was a breeze. We did not need any help from the management staff at all. The grounds were well maintained as were the buildings. Over-all, we had an excellent stay and thank the owners for stocking a great assortment of videos and cd's.

  I would have to say that the Sealodge J9 was a very quiet place to stay on the second floor view. Close to a hidden beach which is a must to see and collect little tiny shells of all colors "very cool walk" "Note" don't walk the trails in the morning if it rain the night earlier. The view of the ocean was perfect view just a few steps away to see the lighthouse. Management gave you everything you need including binoculars next to the TV, I already miss the place. The location made us feel like home. We met Bethany Hamilton. The Real “Soul Surfer” at a hidden beach, all I have to say is, they are fabulous in every way. Now were staying in the South end of the island Poipu and there it much more activity and much many more people down here, if you want peace this is not the place to stay, but the swimming and land fishing is better. Back to the Sealodge, I will give the management 10 for their effort on comfort and cleanness and cooperation with the tenants. If you see a few minor errors with the place, step back a few feet and they are gone, just over look a few rusty spots on the refrigerator.

• The Sealodge was a wonderful place more than we had expected. But just one problem we had. We couldn't figure our how to watch TV. Though a manager, David sent us a boy it is music channel we watched.

  Wow! We just came back from our Hawaii stay, and we want to go back! What a beautiful place! While the outside wasn't much to look at, don't judge a book by its cover. The inside of J9 completely exceeded expectations! Every detail was thought through... we had comfortable sheets, towels, beach toys & equipment... and my favorite, CHOCOLATES! The kitchen was fully equipped, there were movies and books to enjoy... What a great location! We'd love to come back!

  The unit was great in terms of location and view, though it was samll for 5 adults. The oceanfront location gave us a beautiful view and great breeze. Exterior operation and maintenance is lacking. Outside lights were often out, which makes if hard to get to your unit, since it is very dark. Directions assume to can see signs and landmarks, which is very difficult at night, when we arrived.

  We had a great vacation. The condo was very comfortable and they provided extras like mats, towels, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, ice chests, etc. The only thing I would question is the idea of them calling it a two bedroom condo; it is very open. There are no real doors except for the bathrooms. We had three adults and one baby; anymore would have been crowded. Beautiful location - I would love to go back.

  Clean, simple, well equipped condo unit. Rare waterfront location with fantastic view and sound of crashing waves. Quiet, no fills complex. Small point: sad little pool could not keep our kids attention.

  Wife and I stayed for 5 nights in October. Incredible location on the North Shore, views were incredible! Only negatives: wish the lanai didn't feel so enclosed (seemed dark), the windows & screens could have been cleaner, and had a difficult time working the door lock mechanism since we arrived so late in the evening (no light). All in all would definitely stay here again!

  Sealodge is not where the action is. But the ocean views, night sky, and access to quiet beach great for snorkeling made for a great trip. For more action (such as it is on Kauai)Hanalei is a mere 10 minute drive away. Loved being on the north shore. The unit itself was is nice shape, not too fancy, but very clean and comfortable. Loved morning coffee on the lanai and the constant sound of surf and sea breezes. Management were very responsive (even on labor day) but frankly there were few problems for which we had to contact them. Everything ran very smoothly and exactly as advertised. I would certainly stay there again if I were lucky enough to make a return trip.

  We called at the last minute to reserve this unit. Ahh Aloha personnel extended themselves to get us into the unit. Early arrival, late check out and every effort to make it an enjoyable experience. If you are going to the North Shore of Kauai, stay in this place. It is a value beyond belief, with ocean views and a secret beach where the snorkeling is out of this world.
