  The view was incredible and we watched the whales right off the patio! The place was just as described and the pictures were accurate but they cannot do justice to the view – Wow! Overall the place was very comfortable for two people. The towels provided smelled like mildew (or worse) and had to be washed to be able to use, but the rest of the place was very nice. We used the path to the "beach" which was fun if you are in shape for a climb - very steep concrete path that led to a dirt path that consisted of tree roots for steps! We wanted to walk to the beach at the St. Regis but that’s impossible (even though signs on the path pointed you toward it). We walked through the water (treacherous) to the next beach. When we could not make it around the next peninsula, we climbed a more difficult rustic path to the top; fun for us but probably too difficult a trek for many to make. The restaurant on site was excellent. The chef creates a special dish for you using ingredients you like (called the Chef’s Challenge). We tried many dishes like a tapas bar, and all were incredible. It’s BYOB because they don't have a liquor license. The pool/whirlpool was closed due to renovation but it looked like it will be very nice when the stone patio is finished. Since this was the only place to sit in the sun here (unless you want to sit out in the small yard at the back of the complex in front of all the neighbors, this was disappointing but the public beach is a short drive away. The beach at the bottom of the path is very small and not a good beach for swimming due to rocks. If you don't do anything else in Kauai during your visit, take a helicopter tour of the island - amazing and worth every penny. This is truly a paradise.

  Pale Ke Kua 111 is a great place to experience this island. Whales and dolphins to be seen from the lanai. Perfect Bali Hai views. Not to be missed.

  What can I say, the view from this unit is absolutely fantastic. With the two tropical trees that you see in the photo (listed in the Ahh Aloha Kauai description of the property), it has to be one of the best views from any of the units in the Pali Ke
  Kua complex. We watched the killer sunsets from the patio with G & T's in hand every night....simply marvelous. There is a path not more than 100 feet from the unit, leading down to a quanit little beach called "Hideaways", where there is good snorkeling.
  Great thing is that not many people make the trip down, so most of the time you only see few others. The sand on this beach is great as well, large grain colar sand, which is easily rubbed off, the best type. This place is a jewel, the condo complex is ~40
  yrs old, but very well maintained, and this unit has been remodeled nicely and was very clean. I can not recommend this more heartily, don't hesitate to book this place.

  My husband and I truly enjoyed the magnificent sunsets and hiking the Na Pali coast. This condo was a great retreat for us, but we were disappointed to find the beach chairs were broken. If you arrive at night, bring a flash light so you can see the coded numbers on the door. Over all excellent rental and certainly worth the price!

  We LOVED staying in this unit for the second half of our honeymoon. The view was amazing and the condo is very well maintained. We were worried about not having air conditioning but it was always very pleasant in the condo as it gets good ocean breezes. We got dessert from the condo restaurant twice and it was very good! We honestly felt like we had the best place on the whole north shore. We can't wait to go back!

  Overall the unit was acceptable with the major exception the one third of the wall switches did not work, esp. in the bedroom where none of the wall switches worked including the one for the fan. The fan had to be controlled on the fan with a very short chain. Not safe. With the price that is being asked for the unit, one would have thought all this would have been in perfect order.

  We rented this unit for the amazing view of Bali Hai (it does not disappoint) but i was very very happy with the unit and it's furnishings. Nice big shower, a great kitchen layout, good fast cooking electric stove, and nice furnishings. Excellent comfortable bed. Really didn't wish for a thing other than a bbq on premise. That was pretty disappointing. But i managed to pull off some pretty excellent fish dishes a-la-frying pan anyway. If you're going to stay in Princeville and want a 1 bedroom unit, I can't see how you'd get much better.

  Could not get in the front door, we arrived late and it was dark and you cannot see the lock to read the roman numerals. The sheets were full of lint from the dryer. We found 2 cockroaches, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen, very BAD. The draperies are in very poor condition. There is no grill anywhere on the property. The louver windows are dirty.
  The location is outstanding. The living room is lovely, the furniture is very nice. The flooring is really nice wood laminate.

• Great location, but the accomodations don't match up. Kitchen in need of major update. No real wine glasses. Need lounge chairs for patio. Cabinets especailly in need of replacement. Too few spoons. Bedroom and Bath windows filthy on outside.

  This property is all it is advertised to be. I would highly recommend it. The new restaurant across the street (Infigo) is delicious as well - it was our best meal on the island, and they have live music most nights too. (You can't hear it from the property, it is nice and quiet in the condo where you are sleeping.) The beach below has excellent snorkeling if the water is calm.

  I would strongly recommend a yellow pages. I needed non-emergency medical attention after a fall that ended in infection, and it took forever to find out what was available, especially since the Fire Department/Police Department gave me directions to a clinic that had moved.

  It was my ninth visit to Kauai and the most memorable. A lot of family flew out for our wedding. We rented a house on anini beach for the wedding but with so much family was not relaxing and quite hectic. Thats a wedding for ya! The day after my wife and I checked into 111, then the vacation truly started. From the perfect sunset views to the geese greeting in the morning it is truly a special property. Will definitely stay again and it should be even better when the bar and restaurant are finished!

• Unbelieveable Location - This property had an amazing private walkway down to the Hideaways Beach and snorkeling area, which never had more than a few people on it. The whole area was so tranquil and beautiful at all times of the day.

  This place is outstanding if you are looking for what I would term modest to nice furnishings. The view cannot be beat, the path to the private beach and Turtle Point is awesome and the price is very fair for what you receive. My wife and I will definitely return!

  We just loved our stay at Pali Ke Kua 111 condo. We are very familiar with Kauai, Princeville and Hanalei, so it wasn't necessary for us to contact the property manager. We knew what we wanted to do when we got to the island. We loved the fact that the view was there for us 24/7...Gorgeous! The layout of the condo was perfect! The air circulated beautifully. I can see where it might get a little hot in late summer, so having the bedroom on the east is a nice plan. We cooked most of our meals in and appreciated all the pots, pans, and kitchen accessories. We also loved the HUGE shower. We will consider staying here again. Having our own access to Hideaways Beach was a treat! We loved the paved walk to the beach and close access to Hanalei, Tunnels, Lumahuli Gardens and the Na Pali Coastline. This part of the island is a little piece of heaven and we'll be back for more.
